Description
Come and spend the day with Amy Leake making beautiful and functional woodland brushes. Over the course of the day, participants will make at least two brushes and learn the skills to make many more. Explore both natural tampico fibres and abundant brambles, which in the UK provide an excellent fibres for brush bristles. Participants will learn how to safely and efficiently gather and de-thorn the brambles. You will then learn how to process the brambles down into useable brush fibres. Once the fibres have been processed, it’s time to find a suitable stick to make your handle, then assemble the brush and add finishing details such as a rush or bramble fibre cord loop. This workshop is perfect for anyone who loves to sweep! Artists, craftspeople, homeowners and cleaners alike will cherish using their hedgerow brushes. Whats more you’ll come away with the skills to make more brushes and the knowledge to process beautiful bramble fibres.
