Handprinted Botanical Lampshades and Lanterns
Description
Would you like to learn how to make your own handprinted botanical designs and then turn them into beautiful lanterns and lampshades? Come along to this very special printing and lampshade making workshop and I'll show you how! In the morning we will spend time getting to grips with techniques for making successful prints from plants. I'll share all of my best tips and tricks on how to collect, press and print with plants onto paper or fabric. Once you've mastered printing beautiful images, we will move onto turning these printed designs into special bespoke lanterns and lampshades for you to take home. My aim is to make the day relaxed, fun and informal. The workshop is suitable for beginners and is run as a small group, ensuring a friendly experience and plenty of time and support can be offered to ensure you create a beautiful lampshade or lantern and come away feeling confident to keep using your skills and making your own shades at home. The workshop would suit an individual looking to learn something new, a group of friends looking to share some quality relaxing time together or perhaps to celebrate a special occasion such as a hen do or birthday. This workshop is open to adults (16+) and held at the Tilly and Roo Studio in Foyers or can be held at an alternative venue such as your own home. Please contact me if the dates provided do not suit and I will do my best to accommodate your needs. You can also contact me to arrange bespoke classes for groups of friends/hen parties/team events using the 'message the tutor' button. Accessibility information: Due to the constraints of the studio layout, the workshop space may present challenges for mobilising in a wheelchair. Please contact me via the 'message the tutor' button to discuss workshop accessibility so that I can provide more detailed information or explore alternative venues. Please note: we reserve the right to cancel the course if sufficient numbers are not taken up. We will give at least two days prior notice if this is the case and will provide a refund if we cannot move your booking to an agreeable alternative date.

Maker
Having developed a passion for wildlife and nature from a young age, I am now very fortunate to live in the beautiful village of Foyers, a small Highland community on the south-side of Loch Ness. I have a degree in Wildlife Biology, a post graduate Diploma in Occupational Therapy and am currently employed as a Specialist Occupational Therapist at Highland Hospice, where I am privileged to manage a small but dedicated team of therapists. A much loved and very special part of my role is the facilitation of therapeutic patient art groups in our purpose built Art Room. I love sharing creativity. I also work from a small pottery studio in Lower Foyers, just 5 minutes walk from the famous Falls of Foyers and the shores of Loch Ness. I thrive on exploring new processes having developed skills in ceramics, enamelling, jewellery making and printmaking. Jen x
