Description
In this fun workshop you will be guided in the process of making beautiful porcelain jewellery. At the end of the session you will have created your own ceramic pendants. In the morning we will talk through the creative process, looking at some example pieces and discussing how we can use plants and capture detail. Where location allows we will head out for a local walk to collect some foliage which we will use in our work. We will then work alongside each other to create our jewellery pieces in porcelain paper clay. The pieces will then be dried, ready for you to decorate in the afternoon with a range of glaze colours. After the workshop i will fire your pendants in the kiln, ready for you to add to your favourite necklace. My aim is to make the sessions relaxed, fun and informal. The workshops would suit an individual looking to learn something new, a group of friends looking to share some quality relaxing time together or perhaps to celebrate a special occasion such as a hen do or birthday. This workshop is open to adults (16+) and can be held at the Tilly and Roo Studio in Foyers or at an alternative venue such as your own home. Accessibility information Due to the constraints of the studio layout, the workshop space may present challenges for mobilising in a wheelchair. Please contact me to discuss workshop accessibility so that I can provide more detailed information or explore alternative venues. Please note: we reserve the right to cancel the course if sufficient numbers are not taken up. We will give at least two days prior notice if this is the case and will provide a refund if we cannot move your booking to an agreeable alternative date.

Having developed a passion for wildlife and nature from a young age, I am now very fortunate to live in the beautiful village of Foyers, a small Highland community on the south-side of Loch Ness. I have a degree in Wildlife Biology, a post graduate Diploma in Occupational Therapy and am currently employed as a Specialist Occupational Therapist at Highland Hospice, where I am privileged to manage a small but dedicated team of therapists. A much loved and very special part of my role is the facilitation of therapeutic patient art groups in our purpose built Art Room. I love sharing creativity. I also work from a small pottery studio in Lower Foyers, just 5 minutes walk from the famous Falls of Foyers and the shores of Loch Ness. I thrive on exploring new processes having developed skills in ceramics, enamelling, jewellery making and printmaking. Jen x
