Glass Fusing For All Levels - Make Your Own Fused Glass Wall Clock

X

Description

Glass fusing - clock art - one day workshops with Jenny Timms. On this workshop you'll learn how to create beautiful, textured fused glass art, combining glass sheets, glass frit, crushed glass, enamel pens and stringers to make a fully working and totally unique clock! We'll teach you how to make your glass wall clock with demonstrations at each step. If you've enjoyed learning the basics of glass fusing on one of our other fusing classes, this is a fascinating next step for your new fused glass hobby! You'll create the flat form for your project by decorating a base sheet of fusible glass, using a wide range of fusing glass and materials to your design. You can choose to create a round or square design 30cm across with a clear or white opal back layer. We'll teach you to cut the coloured fusible glass needed to create your design. You'll place frit and other materials, use enamel pens and build up your pieces, ready for kiln firing. The skills you've learned on our beginner's fusing classes will come in handy here, although this workshop is suitable for beginners too! Once fired we'll drill the central hole, fit the quartz clock movement and your very own clock will be ready for collection! This class will equip you to create your own further fused glass designs, and teach you more sophisticated fused glass construction techniques. We include a discussion on the firing schedules required for these processes for those interested in the more technical aspects.
