Glass Fusing for Improvers & Beginners - Beach-huts, Flowers or Meadows Curved Art
Description
Slumped Glass Fusing - creating beautiful curved glass forms with texture, for beginners and those with some glass fusing experience. "Money well spent, shall return for more!." - Cedric On this workshop you'll learn how to create beautiful, textured fused glass art, combining glass sheets, glass frit, crushed glass, enamel pens and stringers. We'll teach you how to make S-Curves with a flowers or meadows or beach huts theme, like the ones shown. Depending on the complexity of your first design there may be time to make a second piece. If you've enjoyed learning the basics of glass fusing on one of our other fusing classes, this is a fascinating next step for your new fused glass hobby! Slumping involves adding form to fused glass after its initial firing. You'll create the flat forms for your projects first, and after the first tack firing these will be 'slump-fired' in to the mould. Once cooled your pieces will be ready for collection! This class will equip you to create your own further slumped fused glass designs, and teach you more sophisticated fused glass construction techniques. We include a discussion on the firing schedules required for these two different processes for those interested in the more technical aspects. The starting point for each of your projects on this class is a base layer of COE 90 clear fusible glass. We'll teach you to cut the coloured fusible glass needed to create the shapes needed for your design. You'll place frit and other materials, use enamel pens and build up your pieces, ready for the first firing. The skills you've learned on our beginner's fusing class will come in handy here, although this workshop is perfect for beginners too! What attendees have said about our classes: "So much fun! ....learnt so much." "Absolutely fantastic day. Thoroughly enjoyed all day. Thank you." "Well constructed, good pace and very satisfying. Really enjoyable day and much recommended." "I wouldn't consider myself at all artistic but I found this great fun"
