Fused Glass Christmas Decorations Beginners Workshop at Vitreus Art
Description
Glass Fusing, Christmas decorations - half-day workshop with Jenny Timms at Vitreus Art. Basic Glass Fusing - creating your own hand-made glass Christmas tree decorations, suitable for beginners and those who want to do some more! On this workshop you'll make several jolly decorations in time for Christmas, and learn about the basics of glass fusing, as well as having fun! This glass fusing workshop starts off with a base piece of clear fusible glass then adding coloured crushed glass (called 'frit') and decorating with enamels to create fused glass pieces. You'll get to make around 6-8 decorations during the session - choose from stars, icicles, and Christmas trees all suitable for giving as gifts or of hanging on your own Christmas tree, plus a snowperson, or Father Christmas head, or similar (all about 10cm high). There's no glass cutting required on this class and it really is suitable for total beginners. We start by examining the process and materials you'll be using; after a demonstration of the critical first stage, you'll then start to assemble your trees and icicles along with your other pieces. There's a huge range of frits and enamels for you to choose from so your finished Christmas decorations will all be unique. Your decorations will be fired in our kilns and will be ready to collect 1-2 weeks after the class. What attendees have said about our classes: "Well run with many items to produce. Had a great day with Jenny!" "Fantastic - a great experience in its own right but inspiring further interest. Thank you!"
