" - Bertie Hazel's new Fluid Art workshops are a fun and stimulating way to explore your creativity - and it doesn't matter at all if you've done some painting or none at all! Fluid Art, or Acrylic Pour involves creating art on canvas panels by mixing, pouring and then manipulating paints. You will achieve beautiful abstract paintings you'll love under Hazel's expert tuition - ready to be collected after a few days drying time. Each workshop is 4 hours - enough time to learn the fundamental techniques, discover how the paints behave, and create up to 3 beautiful, vibrant and totally unique paintings, - No previous experience is necessary; also suitable for those already experimenting with acrylic pour art. - Step by step demonstrations - Huge range of paints to try - Small class sizes for plenty of attention - All materials, canvases and protective gear provided - Widely spaced workspaces - Refreshments are included The Course Structure covers: - Learning about the properties of the paints and learning how to mix them - Understanding basic colour theory - Preparing your canvases - Testing the techniques on small canvases - Using blowing and heated tools to move your paint around your canvases - Bringing all your new skills together on a larger canvas Your canvases will be ready to collect after drying You are asked to bring enclosed shoes & old clothes. This class is led by Hazel Beckett, an accomplished artist and tutor. With a background in coaching and leadership plus many years experience working with acrylic pour art techniques, Hazel brings a fun way of creating beautiful and spontaneous art to the studio.

Sadly not - due to the nature of the materials our classes are for adults only.
Yes.
With all one-day and longer stained glass classes we include an info pack with details of the tools you've used and suppliers plus reminders of techniques used. This isn't included in half-day classes.
We'll be delighted to help you decided what's needed.
For fusing classes we're happy to advise on tools, materials and kilns on request.
Materials are included in all beginners classes - fusing and stained glass.
Please bring reading glasses if you use them, and sturdy fully enclosed shoes (no sandals).
Aprons, googles and gloves are provided where needed.
Because you will be using lead and solder containing lead on stained glass classes.
Lead is known to pose a higher risk to babies than to adults.
We welcome participating friends or partners.
Sadly there isn't room at most classes for non-participating friends or partners.
Of course!
Fused glass will need to be collected after firing - we will contact you when ready.
This depends on which class you're planning to book.
For stained glass classes - it will be difficult to complete the class if you have severe arthritis or similar.
For fused glass classes - we suggest you choose a class which doesn't involve glass cutting - feel free to contact us to discuss.
If the class you're planning to book is described as 'for beginners' then yes!
Some of our classes are for improvers - these are described as such in the listing.
We have GF and Vegan biscuits in stock normally.
We will bring in non-dairy milk if advised in advance.
Lunches, where included, are provided by the Bell Cafe nearby which caters for intolerances, vegetarians and vegans.
