Description
In this hands-on course, students will explore the dynamic world of figurative sculpture by creating human and animal forms. Through the process of building armatures and shaping plasticine, participants will learn the foundational techniques of sculpting realistic figures. The course will cover essential skills such as understanding proportions, anatomy, and gesture, as well as how to effectively use an armature to support the structure of the sculpture. Students will begin with sketches and studies to inform their designs, then proceed to construct a wire armature that serves as the skeleton for their sculptures. Using plasticine, students will learn how to model and refine their forms, focusing on capturing the essence and movement of their chosen subjects. The course will also include lessons on surface detailing, texturing, and finishing techniques to bring their sculptures to life. By the end of the course, students will have created their own figurative sculptures, gaining a deep understanding of the sculpting process from concept to completion. This class is suitable for all skill levels, from beginners to those with some sculpting experience, and is ideal for anyone interested in developing their skills in three-dimensional art.
