Discover your jewellery palette: polymer clay workshop
Description
This workshop is listed as one day but is actually spread over two half days to give added flexibilty over timings. During the course you will learn how to create unique jewellery out of polymer clay (Premo and Fimo), in fabulous shades that are absolutely right for you and enhance your natural colouring. You don’t need any prior experience of working with polymer clay, just a love of colour and jewellery. At the end of the day, you will take home one complete necklace and one pendant, which may be part of the necklace or a stand-alone piece. The course takes place in my studio at Bealings Barn, where you can enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Places are limited to 2 - 3 so that I can give lots of personal attention and guidance. During the workshop we cover: • finding ‘your’ colours • conditioning clay • following recipes for mixing precise shades • layering and marbling effects • creating a pendant • making different bead shapes and sizes • firing clay in a domestic oven • finishing your pieces • designing a necklace in a style and length of your choice All the colour recipes and descriptions of the techniques you learn are included in an information pack so you can continue to create new pieces on your own. A version of this workshop is also available as an on-demand online course.
What's included in the price?
All tools and clay are provided, together with the glass beads and base metal findings (clasps etc) for one necklace. If you wish to add sterling silver findings to your design these can be purchased on the day. Tea, coffee and biscuits are served throughout the course. .
