Woven Coil Pots in the Lake District

X

Description

During this morning workshop, you will learn how to create these lovely pots which are quite addictive to make and mesmerising to watch grow on your sewing machine. You will learn the technique to make the pots using lengths of rope. Your tutor, Molly, will demonstrate how to add handles and wrap the cord with fabric to add variations and colour to the pots. They can be made in a variety of shapes and sizes for many uses. You will leave with a detailed worksheet of useful hints and tips to remind you how to make more at home. The workshop will take place in our beautiful converted barn on our Lakeland hill farm near Kendal, Cumbria. The stunning views from the large window may be a slight distraction, but the peace and tranquillity of the setting make it a great place to learn a new skill! After 35 years as an Occupational Therapist working for the NHS, Molly changed direction to focus on teaching skills to others, and working on her own projects. She has had a lifelong interest in knitting, sewing, textiles and techniques to embellish fabrics. She is an experienced tutor offering tuition at a wide range of venues. Please see our afternoon workshop on the same day for Free Motion Machine Embroidery Flowers & Leaves, also with Molly.
