Description
This happy little pair of blackwork mushrooms proves a real hit at workshops. Completed in Back stitch and Holbein stitch, this project offers a range of blackwork techniques. The design is completed on 25 count Zweigart evenweave and everything you need except a water soluble fabric marker and scissors is in the kit. Using a water soluble ink allows any visible lines to be easily removed once the design is complete by dabbing with a moistened cotton pad. Shading is achieved by the use of different thread grades and part stitches. Blackwork embroidery is very rewarding and therapeutic to stitch, it is very similar to cross stitch but works quite quickly and once you can see where you are going with the design, there is no need to keep looking at the chart, except to see where threads and stitches change. The threads supplied are of the highest quality soft, mercerised 100% cotton. The kit comes complete with chart and full instructions and the finished piece measures approx. 13 x 13cm. Stitch tutorials are included in this kit so is suitable for beginners. The kit contains; Chart and instruction leaflet (English text). 25 count Zweigart evenweave antique white (approx 22 x 22cm) Finest blackwork mercersied 100% cotton threads.
