Description
Spend six days at our woodland workshop learning to cleave wood, shape the greenwood using an axe, drawknife and spokeshave sitting on a shaving horse. You'll smooth and shape a live edge plank of Ash or Beech long enough for two people using traditional chairmaking tools, adze, inshave, travisher and scraper. you'll finish with a bench with a back and arms (if wanted) suitable for indoor or outdoor use.

Greenwood Days have been running woodland craft courses since 1998, from a beautiful 90 acre wood in the National Forest on the Leicestershire/Derbyshire border. We offer day, weekend, midweek and week-long courses ranging from traditional Windsor chair-making to contemporary willow sculpture, longbow making to spoon carving.
