Beginners Stained Glass Class - Freestanding Garden Panels
Description
Beginners Stained Glass Class - Freestanding Garden Panels Make your own garden glass art in just one day! "Today we cleaned our beautiful artworks and they have been given pride of place in the garden - in today's sunshine they looked particularly impressive! I still can't quite believe that such lovely items can be produced in such a short timeframe." - Julia Our one-day introduction to this modern method of combining leaded stained glass with zinc construction will give you a grounding in the essential techniques, plenty of hands-on experience with the pro-grade tools we use, and you'll take your garden panel home at the end of the day! We call this class our 'Freestanding Garden Panel' class - you'll make a weatherproof stained glass panel around 80cm tall you can show off in your garden, or display indoors! This class is suitable for complete beginners! We'll introduce you to all the key techniques and tools used in this modern method of constructing glass art using zinc and lead. This alternative way to creating stained glass results in a panel that will support itself, needing no frame. As this class demands more strength in hands and wrists, we recommend the foiling beginners class to those with limited strength or control. We start out by demonstrating how we score and break glass. You'll then practice cutting glass to a design until you're ready to start cutting the coloured glass for your main project. This will take us up to lunchtime, and a break for some fresh air! In the afternoon, you'll work on your project piece which you'll finish in time to take home! We'll demonstrate the skills and tools required for each stage and point out common difficulties. You'll then build your panel with the coloured glass you've just cut. What attendees have said about our classes: "V Enjoyable and a clear achievement at the end of the day." "Many thanks to you both for a fantastic course on Sunday, tired but we both enjoyed it.
