A retreat to simpler values. The Good Life Experience (TGLE) is a festival full of adventure and discovery; all about craft, music, food, outdoor activities and ideas. Changing the way we live and connect, for the better. It takes place 12 - 15 September 2019 in an idyllic location, The Hawarden Estate, Flintshire, Wales.
It launched back in 2014; born out of a need and desire to return our focus as a society to the things that matter: people, the great outdoors, music and art with soul, real food and drink and making things: slowly, properly and with passion.
Does it sound like it could be for you?!
Making is at the heart of this family friendly festival. It’s good for the head, the body and the soul. They scoured the nation for the best makers and craftspeople and this year's line-up is stronger than ever.
They've covered all bases; there's something for everyone.
Learn from experts and then do it yourself.
Tweak, shape, cut, hack, sharpen, twist, glue, turn, polish, strip, nail, sew, sand.
Do it all. Do it with joy.
"I WANTED SOMETHING FOR PEOPLE LIKE ME, CURIOUS TYPES, WHERE IT’S WHAT YOU’RE DOING WITH YOUR HANDS AND WHAT YOU’RE DOING WITH YOUR BRAIN THAT MATTERS.”
CERYS MATTHEWS, THE GOOD LIFE EXPERIENCE CO-FOUNDER
This is your time to do what you want.
And who better to learn from other than some of the best craftspeople in Britain?
We have three main areas dedicated to craft and making. One hosted by the pioneers of craft; Hole & Corner and two areas curated by Sarah Hellen, founder of craft magazine Jwrnal and Charlie Gladstone co-founder of The Good Life Experience.
In the evening everyone puts down their tools and pops their dancing shoes on...
“THE GOOD LIFE EXPERIENCE IS ABOUT CONNECTING OUR GUESTS WITH THINGS THAT REALLY MATTER, NOT JUST FOR ONE LONG, IDYLLIC WEEKEND IN WALES, BUT FOREVER. WE OFFER A WEEKEND-LONG INTERACTIVE GUIDE TO LIVE THE GOOD LIFE.”
CHARLIE GLADSTONE
"PLEASE JOIN US! THIS IS FOR EVERYONE."
