"This course was very enjoyable. The studio was lovely and warm and Liz was a great host. We learnt to make some angels out of wire and some foil hanging decs. really enjoyed it"

"Hi Bex, Good to hear from you and thank you for letting me know about your day at The Slipper Studio. It was lovely to spend the day with you all, celebrating Fran’s birthday. Wire and metal foil are great materials to work with, so lots hopefully of potential for further experimentation. Best wishes and happy making. Liz Wellby"

Caroline reviewed: Explore 1 & 2 colour lino cutting and printing in Derbyshire

"This course was fantastic. Liz is a great teacher; she made everything easy to understand as well as fun to do! The studio is lovely, and Liz had everything we needed to succeed in designing and cutting a Lino to print. With a maximum of 4 people per session, it was a cosy and personal experience. Would definitely recommend and I will be trying out more of Liz’s other courses in the future too."

Liz Wellby - Artist, Teacher & Maker responded:

"Hi Caroline, Oh! Such lovely comments - thank you for taking the time to let me know. It was great to work with you and see your enthusiasm and understanding grow during the day. You’re going to have such fun developing your ideas and skills. It will be lovely to work with you again, so go book another workshop! Best wishes Liz Wellby"

Doro Maginnis reviewed: Blind Embossing: lino printing without inks, in Derbyshire

" Before the course we were sent preparatory information and precise instructions on how to access the venue which was very useful. On arrival, Liz was immediately warm and welcoming, her hospitality and the beautiful studio experience elevated the day to something very special. Her tuition was clear, encouraging and helpful, bridging our varying levels of ability. As a complete novice I felt confident to have a go and learnt a lot about the processes involved. We were provided with great quality materials to use and supported with tips and information throughout the day about future materials we may desire to purchase ourselves. Additionally Liz had printed lino embossing instructions for us to take and use at home. I am fired to practice lino cutting more and enrol on a lino printing course with Liz , I already know it will be a great day! "

Liz Wellby - Artist, Teacher & Maker responded:

"Hi Doro, Thank so much for your thorough, thoughtful and positive endorsement, regarding your day at The Slipper Studio - I am touched by your kind words. I feel you are well and truly bitten by the printmaking bug and you’re going to have a great time exploring the range and potential of the processes. You’ll be most welcome to come back and get messy with inks. Thank you again and very best wishes. Liz Wellby "

Sarah Glover reviewed: The First Cut - lino cutting for beginners & rusty printmakers

"Excellent course. Liz has a knack of explaining techniques clearly and succinctly. The day was well organised and perfectly pitched at the correct level for the participants. The venue is beautiful and very well equipped. It was a peaceful and inviting space to spend a day lino cutting. I was really impressed with the individualised approach Liz took with each of us, discussing the type of finish we wanted to achieve. She provided many useful links and suggestions to carry forward what we had learnt. We came away with two lino cuts, many many prints and a useful recap of the days teaching. Ofsted would give it an OUTSTANDING!! :)"

Liz Wellby - Artist, Teacher & Maker responded:

"Hi Sarah, Thank you so much for your kind words - I have an extremely large smile on my face and feel pretty chuffed. It was lovely working with you and great to share the skills, which may just become a bit of an addiction in your life. Happy printing. Liz Wellby "
