"Had a two hour beginners crochet session with Ann this morning. I have tried to crochet before without much success but thanks to Ann’s patience, enthusiasm, knowledge and guidance I now feel able build on this new skill and with practice take on a project. Ann spotted my mistakes, gently put me right, explaining where and how I had gone wrong. I was also given information and patterns to bring home. The setting was lovely in the Vintage tea rooms in the Grand Arcade. I enjoyed a tasty slice of lemon and blueberry cake. "I had a great time learning crochet with my friend Linda. I wasn't expecting to be able to do so much after just two hours. I made another granny square when I got home, which is now well on the way to being a blanket, something I've wanted to do for a very long time. "My friend Joan and I spent a lovely 2 hours in Ann`s company learning to crochet. As everyone has said she was unbelievably patient with us complete novices! Joan and I were amazed to find we both had a granny square to take home with us and a new skill! Our session was on 31st August and we are both slightly obsessed _ I am currently trying to master holly leaves for Christmas _ there are so many free patterns on the intranet! Best £15 spent in a while- thanks again Ann"

"I met Ann yesterday for a beginner's crochet lesson. She is a really good teacher and very patient. It took me a while to get my head around it but by the end I was impressed with how far I'd come. I finished off my granny square at home using the really useful information sheets she gave me. I highly recommend the workshop and plan to see Ann again for more lessons once I have mastered granny squares."

"This is an amazing workshop – well worth the money, and for such a good cause! Although I’ve been knitting for number of years, I’ve always wanted to learn to crochet. I’ve used numerous YouTube videos but just never been able to pick it up. Ann is fantastic. By the end of the session I could crochet (although I will admit, I still struggled with holding the yarn correctly, but that was simply because I could not wrap my head around it – no fault of Ann’s at all!). Ann took me through the basic stitches, and even provided written instructions to take home – amazing. She also gave me some really useful info about reading American patterns which I’ve always been confused by in the past. By the end, Ann had me crocheting a basic granny square – thanks Ann! I went home, had a practice and can even hold the yarn correctly now! ha I cannot say enough good things about this workshop – lovely, patient teacher, great venue, and I came away with skills I’d not been able to grasp for years. If you are thinking of learning to crochet or knit, you can’t go wrong with a lesson with Ann :)"

"What a lovely afternoon I had when I met with Ann for a crochet lesson at the weekend. Cake, cuppas and crocheting in a lovely tea room - what could be better. Ann is absolutely brilliant; she taught me a selection of stitches, how to follow a pattern and also gave me a selection of help sheets. I also learned how to crochet a granny square, which is what I really wanted to do. Ann explained the logic of the pattern which really helped me understand what to do if (when) I go wrong. Thank you so much Ann for your time and your patience and the help sheets you had for me. I am practicing away doing the granny squares and the ones I've done will all go into the blanket I want to make. I highly recommend a crochet lesson with Ann!"

"Ann is a lovely and kind lady - giving her time to a good cause while at the same time teaching others new skills. Being new to crochet, Ann took me through (very patiently) many of the stitches that I would require to complete a range of projects and provided me with written instructions for future use. The information Ann gave was very informative - in particular pointing out where American patterns use the same terminology to mean different things! Ann then helped me start on my larger project - without her I would not have been able to complete it. I've definitely got the bug and am two blankets in within 3 months. I'll definitely be back for further 1-1 tuition as I explore different knitting and crochet projects, and would highly recommend Ann to others."

"I would really highly recommend this course. Anne explains, demonstrates and then helps you to have a go yourself, and by the end of two hours I could crochet! I am absolutely delighted, and am already very happily making a blanket. I am planning to take a friend soon for her birthday, and will hopefully get some more pointers myself then too! The cafe is a lovely location, and the coffee and cake just add to the great experience."

"My friend & I attended a 2 hour workshop with Ann to learn how to crochet. Ann was brilliant, so patient & a really good teacher. She tailored the workshop to our individual abilities and at the end I felt confident to crochet the basic stitches & start to follow a pattern. I’ve tried to crochet before & not succeeded but this time I felt much more confident and really understood what to do. The written instructions that Ann gave us to take away are clear& a good reminder of what we learned. We had a great time, Ann is so easy to get on with & the Just Grand tearooms serves delicious food& drinks. Such a relaxed setting& a perfect way to spend a couple of hours on a Friday."

"Absolutely fantastic Class. The tea room was the perfect location, such a nice vibe. Ann is a wonderful teacher, very patient and caring, shes so kind. Such amazing value for money, I couldn't ask for a better experience. In 2hours we had tea, scones and I learned to crochet from scratch one 2 one with Ann. I was an absolute beginner, Ann's technique was very easy to pick up. I went home the same day and made a phone case that looks so good. I would recommend this course to everyone, value for money by far, you won't find a cheaper course. And to Top it all off she does it for a wonderful charity so its all for a good cause. Looking forward to my knitting class on Thursday :)"
