"just got back after a fabulous weekend in the lakes. the 2 day course was well paced and all of us left this afternoon with boxes we can be proud to say “I made that” ??… just goes to show that even an old dog can learn a new trick with the right guidance. Well equipped workshop in stunning scenery. mark was great with help and support to bring out the best in us. The only downside was he gave us a choice of several box designs to choose from but we only had the time to make one! "

I felt Mark had just the right amount of guiding hands when the inevitable happens to steer you back on track. "If you're looking for a wooden box making course/introduction then this is the one! Mark is a great tutor and has an excellent workshop. You get to learn a lot in 2 days and use a wide range of techniques and tools. Mark is very encouraging and gives you the confidence to do most of the work yourself. I was more than delighted with the box that I made, it actually looks professional! I'll hopefully be back for more courses in the future and in the meanwhile buy some tools to work with what I've learnt. "A friend and I had a great weekend. The centre was welcoming and Mark the tutor was amazingly patient and positive. He had obviously loads of experience and he helped us both achieve a couple of boxes of which we are both extremely proud to have created. An enjoyable and interesting course that I can't recommend highly enough. Great resources centre, great tutor and great to get to try different machines and tools that I would not normally use. "That was a tip-top weekend; loved it. “Box Making” doesn’t do it justice. After two days under Marks expert and thoughtful tutelage I’ve come away with a beautiful object and feel more accomplished and amazed at what I’ve achieved. And, as if that wasn’t enough there are heaps of skills and lots of tips picked up. Just fabulous. Plus, stunning Cumbria with lots of reasonable options for places to stay. Took a “camping pod” on a secluded nearby farm with glorious views. And if you can stand the 10-minute walk, or two-minute drive to the Rheged Centre you can pick up a great lunch as an alternate to the even more local Greggs and Burger King (nothing wrong with either of those, in case you were wondering). So, if you are thinking about doing it, do it. You will love it and have a great time."
