"Had a lovely relaxing day with Jackie creating a mosaic. I had no idea what I was doing but still managed to produce a lovely mosaic that has pride of place on my mantelpiece. Plenty of cups of tea and lovely home made cake to keep us going through the day. I would thoroughly recommend a days course. Thank you for a lovely day Jackie."

"I did the one day mosaic workshop with a friend and had a lovely time. Neither of us had ever done mosaics before; I managed to mostly finish my piece (with spare materials to take home to complete) and observed the grouting technique (I've yet to try it on my piece). Jackie was a trove of information, help, hints and tips! The workroom was bright and pleasant, with shelf upon shelf of interesting tiles. Plenty of tea and cake throughout the day. Overall, a friendly atmosphere resulting in a charming and relaxing day learning a new skill at my own pace; I have every intention of carrying it on to decorate my balcony. ?"

"I’ve had two amazing days with Jackie creating 2 mosaics which I’m thrilled with. I enjoyed the first time so much I went back a second time! You don’t need any previous experience because Jackie helps with new skills in a very friendly environment. She couldn’t be more helpful. Plus delicious cake and coffee. What’s not to like?"

"I booked Jackie's half day class for my bestie's hen do, it was great fun! Suitable for all ages and artistic abilities. Jackie is so passionate about anything mosaic! I never imagined there were so many different tiles out there! You want it, Jackie has it!! Then to top it all of Jackie baked!! I left with a beautiful mosaic I didn’t think I was capable of and some recipes ?"

"My daughter and I had an absolutely fantastic day with Jackie. Neither of us had done anything like this before and we don't regard ourselves as particularly creative or artistic. However, Jackie's patient, careful and instructive tutoring changed that! Her work on display is inspirational and the choice of materials on offer is amazing. Jackie is clever at letting you do your own thing whilst giving guidance and help when needed. Alongside this, Jackie constantly supplied us with tea and gorgeous homemade Victoria sandwich cake. Although initially we found the prospect of making a mosaic in one day daunting, we quickly got into the process and actually found it very therapeutic. I'm amazed by what, with Jackie's encouragement, we were able to make and we're very proud of our finished pieces. I can't praise this course highly enough. My daughter and I will be back again and in the meantime we will pursue the art of mosaic making."

"We had a lovely time with Jackie - a very special day for me, my mom, my best friend and her mom to celebrate a 60th birthday. Jackie was friendly and her house is amazing! Such a pleasure to have a view into her world and to share her house and studio with us. More than that Jackie is a real expert and is a fantastic guide - she inspired our designs and helped us shape our ideas and gave us lots of tips. We were all amazed at the quality of what we produced in a day - and some things to really treasure. I would highly recommend."

"What a fantastic and very therapeutic day! Thoroughly enjoyed the workshop from beginning to end and Jackie made us all feel very welcome with an endless supply of tea and homemade cakes! Jackie had a huge range of mosaic tiles for us to choose from, meaning we all got to make exactly what we envisaged . The best review I can give is to say I will definitely be back!"

"Well organised mosaic course, led by a professional instructor, who encourages students to work at their own creative pace. Lots of help and encouragement given to all abilities. Well stocked, pleasant craft room, ideal for small social groups of all ages and genders. A very worthwhile one day craft course, that has inspired me to continue with the art of mosaic. Perhaps classes on a different days of the week, may open up the course, to those who do not have Wednesday free."

"I took my friend to one of Jackie's day mosaic courses and what a wonderful day we had. Jackie is a gifted teacher and very warm and friendly. Not only did we achieve a mosaic on the day, we learnt such a lot without even realising how much we had taken in. The studio is amazing with examples of the exquisite work done by Jackie and also of the beautiful work done by her students. I cannot recommend Jackie enough for the care, attention and fun we had that day, together with an endless supply of tea and coffee and, of course, the most delicious cake. "My daughter and I recently attended to one of Jackie's mosaic courses and both of us really loved it. Neither of us had any experience, however this was not an issue. We were guided, instructed, assisted and encouraged without undue pressure to produce a work of our own making. This was not the only delight, as the host was lovely, very welcoming and enjoyable company throughout and refreshments including banana cake were also forthcoming. With the surroundings, facilities and the congenial atmosphere, what is there not to like! Whilst we came as a pair, I cannot believe that as an individual or indeed a group, that the experience would be any less. Can wholeheartedly recommend the experience and you can come out with your own unique piece. Suggest you have a go, you will love it."

"What a fabulous day! A birthday treat for my mother, which turned out to be a treat for us all. Jackie is a wonderful host and an enthusiastic teacher. With a treasure trove of mosaics and lots of creative ideas to choose from, we were spoilt for choice for things to make. With plenty of support and a day of concentrated activity, we all left for home with something we were proud of. I would highly recommend the day - and the lemon cake! We will come again."

"I booked this course for my friend's 60th birthday present and I must say it was a wonderful day. Jackie was warm, friendly and offered the right level of support and encouragement. She was very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. She was happy to provide gluten free biscuits and cakes as my daughter and I follow a gluten free diet and cake for the birthday girl and her daughter. Jackie makes you very welcome in her home and the studio is an ideal learning environment. It was really special that there were only the 4 of us on the day so it felt very personal. We were all pleased with the mosaic we produced and I would say it is one of the very few courses you can do if you are a beginner but also would suit people of all skill levels. I would highly recommend the workshop to anyone, we had a truly fabulous day."

"One of my heroes from history is the Saxon monk, St Cuthbert, one-time abbot of Lindisfarne monastery. His corpse rests in Durham cathedral and, incredibly, his pectoral cross has survived and is part of the church's great treasures. I suggested to Jackie that I should love to do my own mosaic interpretation of the cross, and she enthusiastically took me under her wing and steered me gently towards achieving my ambition. I had no experience of mosaic work, but Jackie is an expertly sympathetic teacher. At no point did she instruct me to do anything. She discussed alternatives with me so that I could make informed choices, with the result that I sincerely believe that the cross is my creation. All in all, it was a wonderful experience, but most importantly, it was fun. Thank you lots, Jackie. Love, Al x."

"We were celebrating one of our tennis group reaching a significant birthday. She is art trained and we felt that a mosaic day would suit her well. In fact it suited us all whatever our ability. We had such fun, but we really concentrated and we're amazed and pleased with our results. Jackie is a delight - so helpful and encouraging. The hours whisked by in her lovely studio - such a fab way to spend a day learning something new."

"Spent a thoroughly enjoyable day at the workshop. Jackie gave excellent tuition but then stepped back to let you create your mosaic. She seemed to instinctively know when you needed a guiding hand. Fabulous choice of tiles to select from. delicious food as well especially the banana cake!"

"We had a fantastic day getting creative with Jackie's expert encouragement. I was delighted that Jackie allowed me to make use of her studio to try out ideas of my own, I wasn't sure they would work, but Jackie's experience and advice beforehand and on the day ensured success. I love my crockery bird mosaic and my carp on a slate - 2 mosaics in a day! I am planning a return visit to make some more. Did I mention that she is a fantastic host and has a beautiful home - a real treat to spend a day with her. Thanks!"
