"Art Day 21/08/2019 Laura's mixed media art day was an opportunity to "dabble" in various materials that personally I had not used before, and/or once again try working with acrylics. She had many artefacts, materials and paints for use and we all ended up with a small collage to take home. She was very encouraging, giving demonstrations and also showing her work to inspire us. The morning was spent trying out ideas, gluing and painting on paper before starting on our mini canvas that we had all been given. The class is in her beautiful home, which is also close to the coast. I was warmly greeted and we were treated to delicious refreshments throughout the day. We were 5 ladies which may be the total at any given class, you may want to check."

"Had a really super day with Laura. Spent the morning trying out lots of techniques and materials, which gave me lots of new ideas not only to use on my canvas but for other projects I do. After lunch we worked on the canvas using lots of different materials and applying the ideas from earlier in the day. Laura is a very well organised and patient teacher, and I felt well supported and encouraged. It is a compliment to her skill that we produced very different canvases to take home despite being at the same workshop. I was really proud of my efforts!"

"When I read Laura's description of this mixed media workshop, it looked just right for me - not an artist, just someone who enjoys art and wants to learn. I was not disappointed. Laura was an excellent teacher, very patient and willing to give tips and encouragement when I felt I was not up to it! Laura had a wealth of materials for us to dip into and helped us use paint, stencils and found items we would probably never have thought of ourselves. This will definitely change the way I look at re-using odds and ends to create images in the future. Her studio was airy and welcoming along with refreshments and even music. "I had not done any artwork since school - long time ago - and was a bit apprehensive about being a complete beginner. The workshop description sounded ideal and indeed it was exactly what I wanted and more. Laura is so encouraging. She started by showing us techniques to build background textures and supplied a wealth of interesting materials to use with lots of ideas to get the creative juices flowing. It was such fun and the day flew by. I came away completely inspired and the next day started looking for items to recycle into artwork - a day with Laura has given me an artistic eye!"
