"Well, where do I start.
Ok, 2nd course myself and my son have been on.
Start of the day was Tea/Coffee biscuits etc.
Chat with everyone on the course, Adrian and Andy.
This one was tool making.
We made a pair of tongs and a steel punch (each) now you’d think that’s a quick job.
No,,,, I couldn’t believe how much work was involved. Lots of heating, beating and shaping.
Adrian takes you through the process in stages, nice and steady so it’s clear.
While you're working, Adrian and Andy are at hand to refresh your memory, give help and advice and pass on their knowledge and expertise.
Both Adrian and Andy are top notch at Blacksmithing, you're surrounded by their amazing work in progress and they're happy to chat about it.
Be prepared to get dirty and warm if you decide to go, your loss if you don’t have
lunch,,, prepared, cooked and served by Debbie.
Oh and what a lunch, plenty to go round, all home made (including the breads) and it’s amazing. Yea/coffee as much as you like.
Pudding, all homemade and is to die for.
Back to it and an enjoyable afternoon beating the steel, chatting and joking.
Don’t worry if you have no one to go with, you soon make friends in the forge.
Now we ran over time wise, but we kept going until everyone had finished, then drinks, homemade buns and cake. Debbie, you're a star, again amazing grub. Adrian, you're a lucky man.
Great atmosphere, good food, brilliant instructions, plenty of help and advice, friendly/professional instructors.
Just looking to book the next course now.
For what you get, it’s a cheap day out.
Thank you everyone, see you soon.
