Weave a Willow Frame Basket

X

Description

This creative workshop will enable you to make a colourful willow basket at the same time as learning new skills. Your basket will be great for a picnic lunch, foraging on a country walk and for a bit of shopping. Willow is a marvellous and timeless, traditional material used in making a variety of baskets and many other items both practical and sculptural. The workshop is designed for adults of any creative level and is the perfect way to spend the day meeting and working alongside like minded people. Your tutor, Jane Roberts, has a passion for all things natural and weaving! Plus, a passion for running workshops for people who want to learn a new skill and have some fun whilst doing it! She has a BA in Fine Art from the University of Northampton and is a member of the Basket-maker’s Association. She has been delivering and managing community arts workshops and projects for over 20 years and is delighted to be working at Stanwick Lakes. The group will be kept to a maximum of 8 people so everyone will have individual instruction, help, and support. The course will take place in our training barn at Stanwick Lakes, a beautiful 750 acre nature reserve and visitor attraction in the heart of Northamptonshire’s Nene Valley.
