Teenager Silversmithing Course - Reading
Description
This course has been designed for teenagers interested in learning how to make their own silver jewellery, along with learning basic silversmithing skills. This course is suitable for absolute beginners to people with some prior experience who may wish to build on the skills they already have. During the day you will learn how to use silver & copper to make various ring shapes, before deciding on your final ring shape. Your final choice rings can be left plain, stamped or textured, before being buffed to a high shine finish. During the session students will complete one copper and 1 Silver ring. Time permitting additional silver can be purchased to make more rings at a cost of £15.00 per ring. The skills you will learn during the workshop are how to shape, anneal, solder and curing the different metals to make a variety of rings. This workshop is very interactive and continued support is offered throughout the day, whilst at the same time allowing students to work independently. The course runs for 2 hours but on occasions can slightly over run, to enable students to fully complete their ring or rings.
