Silver Clay Jewellery Workshop in The Cotswolds - Gloucestershire/Wiltshire/Oxfordshire

X

Description

Spend the day immersing yourself in learning a new skill with guest tutor Jo. With a few simple techniques, in just one day, you can turn silver clay from a squishy little lump into solid silver jewellery and have something beautiful to take home. It really is amazing! This workshop is suitable for beginners and will give you an introduction to silver clay and also for those wishing to develop their skills further. You will have plenty of time to explore the material, get tips and advice, and create your own pieces of jewellery. You will have the option to add a touch of sparkle and set a cubic zirconia in one of your pieces. Silver clay can be cut, shaped and textured with ease, a wonderful way to create your own unique pendant, charm or drop earrings. Depending on the size of your pieces there is usually enough for more than one go! Make a pendant or two, or a pendant and a pair of drop earrings; some people will make bracelet charms – the choice is yours! The skills you learn in this workshop will enable you to continue creating after you leave – the tutor will have starter kits available to purchase if you wish to make more at home. Please bring: - glasses if you wear them - an apron (not essential) - lunch Note: Working with Silver Clay is generally very safe. However, please take note of the following requirements for the day: - Long hair must be tied back - Don’t wear trailing scarves or anything fluffy as they are attracted to clay! - Wear closed-toe sturdy shoes Tutor Biography: Jo has been studying, designing, making and selling jewellery for over 25 years. She loves what she does and sharing her passion for silver clay makes her truly happy.

What's included in the price?

Tuition, use of tools, tea & coffee. There will be an additional cost of £25 on the day for clay payable to the tutor. If you would like to finish your piece with a chain (you may bring your own), ear wires or bracelet there will be a selection available to buy.

Crafting in the Cotswolds – what’s not to love? Lechlade Craft Barn offers craft workshops in the pretty Cotswolds market town of Lechlade on Thames. The Craft Barn is an attractive old stone barn at Karen's home and is the perfect setting to discover and develop your crafting skills. Owner Karen has a long-held passion for crafting, with backgrounds in retail and event management. Along with her workshops, she is joined by a talented team of guest tutors who offer a wide range of craft workshops. The barn is accessed via external stone steps with handrails on either side and unfortunately may not be suitable for anyone with mobility issues. Some workshops are delivered nearby in the bright and spacious Memorial Hall complex and other local venues. In addition to published workshops, we also offer bespoke Crafty Parties for Hens, groups of friends and family, special occasions, or any excuse to have a crafty day.
