Think you can't paint? Afraid you won't be good enough or believe you have no "artistic" ability? Then this is the perfect class for you... The pleasure of painting transcends the need for artistic skill, offering a liberating and joyful experience accessible to everyone. Engaging in painting allows individuals to express emotions, explore colours, and create abstract forms without the pressure of achieving perfection. Taking inspiration from the seasons, this class is a gentle introduction to water colour painting where you will discover how to mix colours and learn to let go of the fear of putting brush to paper and simply enjoy the experience. Ruth is a very experienced teacher who offers gentle guidance and encouragement. She focuses her classes on enjoying the process and letting go of any preconceived expectations. No artistic experience required. You may wish to bring along an apron to protect your clothes. Our Studio is in a beautiful converted Oast with exposed beams and gentle views across the farmland.  Filled with mouth-watering aromas from The Oast Bakery, where Alison prepares our delicious refreshments, this is the perfect place to escape the pressures of daily life and enjoy some creative time for yourself.  Our aim is to offer the chance to unwind, learn a new skill and meet like minded people whilst enjoying a cuppa and a slice of cake. The Oast Studio was started in 2021, as the COVID restrictions came to an end and we realised there was a need and a demand for people to come and spend time crafting together. We paired together our love of food and sewing and The Oast Studio was created! We now offer over 80 different craft and sewing classes from Needle Felting & Basket Weaving to Sewing & Painting. With freshly baked treats at every class plus home cooked lunches at all our full day courses.
