Description
Tutor: Katherine Learn how to encase sea glass in a fine silver frame with a sea themed detail on the back. You will be gently guided through all the techniques to enable you to make your very own pendant from these treasures of the sea. You will learn how to: Fit fine silver bezel wire to your sea glass shape. Solder the bezel to a backing plate. Create a bail and solder it to your piece. Saw pierce out a detail on the backing plate. Set your sea glass. Finish and polish your piece. Materials in addition to the course fee. Good hand dexterity and eyesight essential. Some experience of saw piercing, soldering and stone setting is beneficial but not essential.

Maker
I was interested in making and designing from a very early age and developed my first jewellery range in 2000. I then discovered my love for teaching in 2004 and have been developing my courses ever since. I have a home teaching studio for 1:1 & 1:2 sessions and in 2017 I set up a teaching studio at Yardley Arts where I can teach up to 11 learners. Qualifications: BA in Designed Metalwork and Jewellery from BCUC and MA Royal College of Art Goldsmithing, Silversmithing, Metalwork and Jewellery.
