Description
This is the perfect course for total beginners as you will be guided through a range of wire techniques including, twisting, forging, melting, soldering, forming, filing, stone setting, and finishing to build your skills in jewellery making. Tutor – Jess Staples-Hull. January 2025 (6 weeks from 8th Jan). Week 1-2 – twist and forged rings. Week 3-4 – tube settings. Week 5-6 – spinner rings. Materials are in addition to your course fees and can be purchased from Jess during the course. As a guide you can expect to spend between £20 and £60 depending on the stones you choose and the size of your designs.

Materials will be available to purchase from the tutor during the course, but if you would like to bring your own materials, this information will be sent to you weekly and will depend on your design and choice of stones.

Maker
I was interested in making and designing from a very early age and developed my first jewellery range in 2000. I then discovered my love for teaching in 2004 and have been developing my courses ever since. I have a home teaching studio for 1:1 & 1:2 sessions and in 2017 I set up a teaching studio at Yardley Arts where I can teach up to 11 learners. Qualifications: BA in Designed Metalwork and Jewellery from BCUC and MA Royal College of Art Goldsmithing, Silversmithing, Metalwork and Jewellery.
