What to Expect - Introduction to Slip-Casting: Learn the basics of slip-casting, which involves pouring liquid clay (slip) into moulds to create various shapes. - Marbling Techniques: Understand how to mix different coloured slips to achieve the marbled effect. - Mould Preparation: Get tips on preparing your moulds for slip-casting, ensuring they are clean and ready for use. -Pouring the Slip: Learn the correct method for pouring the marbled slip into moulds to achieve the best results. - Finishing Touches: Discover how to finish your pieces after they have been cast, including trimming, fettling, refining the marbled patterns, and preparing them for firing. - Firing Process: Gain insight into the firing process and how it affects the final look of your marbled ceramics. - Glazing: Bryony will finish these pieces with a transparent glaze, enhancing the marbled colours in the clay. The glaze will make the items food safe and sealed, ready for everyday use.
