Making Handmade Recycled Paper for Beginners
Description
This is a relaxed and enjoyable workshop demonstrating the basics of recycling egg boxes to make beautiful handmade papers. Participants will learn how to create vats of pulp, how to make paper with inclusions such as dried petals and foliage or glitter, how to use the different types of moulds to make a post of papers and how to deal with the sheets on and off the post. At the end of the day, participants will take home a variety of sheets of paper and will have the knowledge to start papermaking at home. The class is suitable for complete beginners Please note: The papers taken home will be wet so please bring something in which to take home your paper. You'll need something flat and a plastic bag to cover it. Use of shared moulds is included but participants may bring their own mould and deckle. A variety of these can be purchased online or from George Weil (Pulp Linters Fillers for Making Paper | George Weil Craft Supplies). Owing to the restrictions of the size of the vats used, moulds should not be bigger than A5.
