Ostrich - Intermediate level adult needle felting workshop

Taking place at The Art Yard gallery in Cradley Heath, from 10am-5pm this is an adult needle felting workshop with tutor Natalie Harris (Brooks). Natalie is a fine artist using needle felting and the creator of Roly Poly Ponies. This workshop is aimed at adults (18+) that have done a few needle felting projects before and have a good grasp of the basics...attendees should already have a basic grasp of needle felting and be able to make firmly felted shapes (balls, eggs, flat shapes). The focus will be on using a simple armature and fur planting, so if thats something that you are looking to move onto, this workshop is for you! Types of wool, needles and techniques are explained and then you will be guided through the process, step by step whilst Natalie makes along with you. At the end of the workshop you will have produced a lovely ostrich to take home with you...if you don't quite finish, you may take materials from the workshop to add any finishing touches at home. All materials are provided. Tea and coffee will be available, but lunch is not included. Please bring a packed lunch with you. Booking essential. Natalie is a fine artist that has been using needle felting as a part of her practice since 2015. Natalie uses felting in both 2D and 3D works and has had work shown nationally including the RBSA, Society of Equestrian Artists, Wolverhampton Art Gallery and The New Art Gallery Walsall. In 2017 she had work selected for the National Trust owned Beningbrough Hall's "Oh Wise Owl" sculpture trail. In 2018 she was selected for the "Character Portrait Project". She currently has work on show at The Art Yard and is part of the George Stubbs inspired exhibition at Normanby Hall and Country Park. Natalie is also the creator of the fun and quirky Roly Poly Ponies.
