In a relaxed and friendly setting enjoy a full day of fun, practical and informative learning making your own leather apron. Made from sturdy durable vegetable tanned leather, with adjustable neck, back and waist straps this utility apron is great for the BBQ, crafting, gardening and all sorts of possibilities. This workshop is suitable for complete beginners as well as all abilities. Surrounded by the smell of leather, in Coterie's purpose built, light and airy leather studio, with absolutely no experience necessary, in a small group of up to 4 students you'll learn the basics of leatherwork, all about the materials and tools, cutting and preparing natural vegetable tanned leather, and traditional hand stitching techniques, as well as strap cutting and fixing hardware. You'll have the opportunity to design pockets and personalise your apron, perhaps your name or initials, and you'll go home with a beautiful unique handmade item.
What's included in the price?
All materials are included in the price. Each leather hide is individually selected for its beautiful natural qualities, complete with hallmarks, scars and markings from the tanning process - a testament to the natural origin of the hide. As this is a full day course and sue to Covid measures please bring your own packed lunch. Tea and homemade cake is provided at afternoon break time to keep your energy and creative levels up.
