Description
Make a sculptural vessel. Learn to make a pot, vase, jug or cup form and then use that technique to build out a sculptural form. Come and explore with slab building and hand moulding in clay. I have patterns for making pots, or design your own. We will learn joining, moulding, sculpting and clay forming techniques. We will use decorating oxides and tools for textures and discover some of the exciting chemistry in buckets of glaze. All levels welcome. I have 20+ years of experience working with clay and glaze, and have been commissioned by Aberdeen Standard Life, featured on this years The Great Pottery Throw down and been in numerous media and publications. You will finish the workshop with your own individual piece with all the technical guidance you need for the session.
What's included in the price?
You will make a piece or set of pieces using any tools and materials you like in my ceramics and glaze kit. I will take your piece away at the end of the session to bisque fire followed by a transparent glaze firing over your design. You can pick your work up from my studio or I can send it out to you for a post and packaging fee.
