During the day, we will learn how to design and create a basic living willow structure such as a fedge, arbour, or dome. We will look at the practicalities of choosing the site, planning and creating the structure, choosing the willow, how to look after the plants, preparing the site, aftercare and basic maintenance. You will make a variety of small model structures, Then we will work together as a group to create a full-size arbour using some of my own organically grown living willow, the structure will stay on the farm. I will also advise you about selecting and purchasing willow. You will also have the opportunity to wander around the farm and visit the animals, the small city farm is home to over 40 rehomed, rescued, and lifelong animals. PLEASE NOTE This is quite a physically demanding activity you will need a good level of manual dexterity. we will be bending over and kneeling at times and we will be standing much of the time the activity may involve clearing grass and digging.
