Description
This a fun and friendly workshop where you will spend the day designing, cutting and printing your own Christmas cards. All materials and equipment are provided for you, however if you have a set of lino tools that you like to use, feel free to bring them along. Aprons are provided but wear scruffy clothes! A selection of festive images will be provided to inspire you but if you have an image you would like to use, please bring it along or email it to me before the day of the workshop. You will start the process with choosing your design and transferring it onto your piece of A6 Lino. Often people trace from photos to transfer the design, others are quite happy to draw freehand- that is completely up to you. It can also be a mixture of tracing and free drawing. You will learn how to transfer your design in negative format onto the lino, use different size tools to carve away areas and leave the image for printing. You will experiment with printing onto different papers and/or straight onto A6 blank cards. We may also add in elements of collage, where appropriate. The aim is that you will go home with at least 10 prints that you are happy with. You will also have your lino so that you can print more at a later date. I will have a number of cards and envelopes available to purchase. Depending on your confidence you may wish to print directly onto the cards, or on to paper to then glue on to the cards at a later date when the prints are dry. Depending on time, you may have the chance to cut and print some labels to add to your Christmas presents.

All tools and materials are included plus 10 free A6 cards and envelopes. Small group sizes, so lots of help on hand. Refreshments and homemade cake. Please bring a packed lunch. Free parking. Under 18's must be accompanied by an adult.
