Autumn inspired Lino printing workshop with collage.

Description

This is a fun relaxed workshop where you will explore the process of lino cutting and printing. A selection of Autumn themed images will be provided to inspire you such as seedheads, pumpkins and flowers. You will start the process with choosing your images/s and creating your design which you will then transfer onto your piece of A6 Lino. Often people trace from photos to transfer the design, others are quite happy to draw freehand- that is completely up to you. It can also be a mixture of tracing and free drawing. You will learn how to transfer your design in negative format onto the lino, use different size tools to carve away areas and leave the image for printing. You will experiment with printing onto different papers and you will also have the opportunity of preparing 2-3 collaged backgrounds to print onto. I have a selection of tissue papers and inked papers, but if you have some interesting (non-shiny, lightweight) papers, bring them along to try out. You will learn how to print using basic techniques as well as on a traditional book printing press. The aim is that you will go home with at least 5 prints you are happy with. You will also have your lino cut so that you can print more at a later date.

All tools and materials. Refreshments will also be provided. Small group sizes, so lots of help on hand. Please bring a packed lunch. Free parking is available on the road.
