Large stained glass mosaic garden stakes

Description

If you have some mosaic and glass cutting experience or have completed one of my other workshops, and would like to develop your skills further on a larger piece, then this is the perfect workshop for you. We will quickly brush up on glass cutting skills as well as how to use a glass grinder. I will go over again the best ways to glue your glass on to the acrylic to avoid grout bleed, and we will look at the skills needed to glue down larger pieces of glass. You will be provided with a pre-cut and drilled acrylic base in the shape of a teardrop. We will spend the Saturday planning, cutting and glueing the glass onto your teardrop. There will be basic design ideas and examples available on the day, but you are welcome to bring your own ideas or we can work on one together. We will pay particular attention to how design elements work together and how best to combine colours. We will be aiming to have completed the glasswork on the teardrop by the end of the day. Small groups will enable one-to-one help to be available all day. On the Sunday we will clean up the mosaiced piece and grout it. You will be taught the tricks of the trade to make this process easier. We will also attach the metal pole to your mosaic. By Sunday lunchtime you should have a beautiful piece of artwork to take home to your garden. Refreshments will be provided. Please bring a packed lunch, an apron, and wear close toed shoes. Course runs Saturday 10-4pm and Sunday 10-1pm Class size: 4
