Maker
I have always been drawn to plants, from rescuing those discarded on waste ground, even as a child! After doing a fine art degree, working as a photographer, I then qualified as a medical herbalist in 1990, after a 6 year course which involved in depth study of many different aspects ( ancient and modern) of plant lore and working with inspiring and experienced herbalists including as Christopher Hedley, Stephen and Carol Church, and Carol Guyett. I work with people who want to learn how to use herbs sustainably in their own lives to enhance health and well being, teaching them how to identify, cultivate, harvest and make remedies, learning and respecting the power of herbs. I continue to combine arts and science, teaching Japanese woodblock printmaking (Mokuhanga) using water based pigments alongside my herbal practice.
