My "introduction to hand engraving" course will focus on the use of traditional hand held burins/gravers to create ornamentations onto a flat plate of copper and brass. The course will cover: - Plate preparation. - Graver preparation. - Sharpening. - Designs. - Transfer of design to the plate. - Vision aids and additional equipment. - Cutting techniques.

I am a hand engraver using traditional techniques of "push engraving" with a graver, hammer and chisel, and power assist using GRS and Pulsegraver systems. I have studied in Florence Italy, USA, Luxembourg, Belgium and the UK. I have won numerous hand engraving awards over the years and compliment my commission work with teaching which I love.
