Join us for a one-day workshop where you’ll unleash your creativity and develop new crafting skills, in a welcoming and relaxed environment. Led by Patricia, a seasoned mosaic artist with over 20 years of experience, and BBC Home is Where The Art Is winner, you’ll gain plenty of inspiration, expert guidance, and practical tips throughout the class. During the workshop, you’ll learn how to: - Safely cut materials for mosaic art. - Design and create your own mosaic, exploring pattern and andamento (the flow and rhythm of mosaic pieces). This class is perfect for beginners and seasoned crafters alike! By the end, you’ll have new skills and a beautiful handmade mosaic to proudly take home. Come for the fun, stay for the creativity! About the artist: Patricia has worked as an Artist and Community Artist for over 20 years, delivering Arts in Health and community projects in hospitals, schools and community settings. She has worked on high-profile art projects including Go Superlambananas for Liverpool’s European Capital of Culture year, and Our City, for which she teamed up with CITV Art Attack’s Neil Buchanan. In 2014 Patricia was selected to exhibit in the first British exhibition at the prestigious mosaic beinniel in Chartres, France. In 2019 Patricia was a winning artist on BBC1’s Home is where the Art is, hosted by artist Nick Knowles. Her mosaic and fused glass sculpture Mandy Mandala Superlambanana was originally created as a symbol of peace, hope, and unity for the communities of Liverpool during Liverpool’s year as European Capital of Culture. Mandy went on to sell at auction for £25,000 to TV Producer and Chair of The Culture Company, Phil Redmond, and is now housed in the Museum of Liverpool on Albert Dock.

Dr Helen Jones has 14 years art teaching experience. Helen achieved a 1st Class honours in Fine Art and continues to be a practicing Artist from her home studio in Chester. She completed an MA in Art Education and then completed a Doctorate in the subject. She has delivered adult art workshops nationally and offers regular art classes and workshops in Chester through her small business The Art Doctor UK founded in 2021. Helen has also taught art in Tuscany, the Congo, Rome and Finland. She has a warm and encouraging nature.
