Description
Learn to make Felted Christmas Decorations including a set of six Baubles and several Needle Felted ornaments. Use them time and again to adorn your home with handmade festive artisanal charm. Enjoy a fun filled day learning the ancient craft of felt making with Penny Dixon, a textile artist who has been felting for over 18 years. During this full day workshop you will be taught step-by-step how to create a beautiful selection of bespoke Felt Christmas decorations. You will start the day spending time arranging and needle felting the wool in place onto a polystyrene base, creating a pleasing marbled effect. Then using the Wet Felting technique you will massage them with soap and water to fix the fibres further. They will then be rinsed and dried in time to place a metal topper in for hanging. The end result will be a set of six baubles. The afternoon session will be spent needle felting various shapes suitable for little Christmas tree decorations. You can choose from gnomes, Christmas mice, little trees, hearts, stars and snowmen. We have metal shapes to use as guides so they are fun and easy to make. We will also provide ribbons to hang each one on your tree. These will be attached during the workshop.
