Description

Discover the Art of Tufting! Tufting is a form of rug making with a modern twist. With the aid of a power-assisted tufting machine you push yarn through a woven backing cloth at high speed, producing fluffy tactile textile pieces. It’s an instant gratification type of craft, which is a really satisfying to have a go at. While the tufting machine may look daunting at first, mastering the right pressure and angle sets you on your way to creating your own tufted artwork or home décor masterpiece. What to Expect in Our Workshops! Join one of our dynamic 4-hour workshops and design your very own 40x40cm cushion, rug or wall hanging. We'll guide you through the essentials of using a tufting machine and get you tufting in no time! Workshop Highlights: Creative Support: Get help with design ideas if you need a spark of inspiration. Design: Draw your design onto the fabric. Variety of Yarns: Explore a wide range of yarn types and colours to make your design pop. Introduction to a Cut Pile Tufting Machine Tufting Techniques: Learn the skills to create beautiful tufted pieces. What you need to bring/ prepare: Simple Block-colour Design Ideas - You will begin the day by designing a simple block design and learning how visually translate it to tufted fibre design.
