Enamel Leaves Workshop

Kiln Fired enamel leaf workshop with Katie Sanderson and Dilys Fisher Come and join us for a workshop from my studio in Coalway in the beautiful Forest of Dean and experience the ancient craft of enamelling on copper. I'm just a 2 minute walk from the Forest if you’d like to combine exploring the forest with your visit to me. You will make 4-6 of your own kiln fired enamelled leaves all finished and ready to be taken home that same day. The leaves can be hung using invisible thread or could be displayed in a bowl. With step-by-step guidance and tuition we will demonstrate each stage as you progress, and offer one-to-one guidance where appropriate. All workshops are suitable for complete beginners or those that would like to further their experience. All tools and materials are provided. Full day 10am - 4pm £105 per person plus approximately £15 for materials paid for on the day. Enamelling is thought to go back some 3500 years and although now done with modern equipment, these wonderful processes can be incredibly addictive and even with just a small amount of time you will be amazed at what you can achieve.

Over the past 14 years I have explored enamelling through experimentation. After first being introduced to it by my mum, who packed me off to Nottinghamshire with a kiln and a box of enamel powders. I then became mainly self taught through embracing the freedom of the kiln. I’ve expanded on that first box of enamel powders, and now bring in many techniques to my pieces and my teaching.
