Description
Learn some essential sewing skills as we explore the art of simple patchwork and cushion making. We will spend the morning selection fabrics and creating a 3x3 square patchwork panel. Once this is ready - and we have enjoyed a delicious lunch, we will have the afternoon to turn this panel into a beautiful cushion ready for the sofa. We have a good selection of fabric remnants to choose from, but you are also welcome to bring along any pieces you may like to include. Please avoid any velvets of fabrics with a nap. You will learn: - How to set up your sewing machine - and some trouble shooting - How to understand the different qualities of fabric - How to assemble your patchwork pieces - How to sew and finish seams neatly -How to turn your patchwork into a beautiful cushion Our Studio is in a beautiful converted Oast with exposed beams and gentle views across the farmland. Filled with mouth-watering aromas from The Oast Bakery, where Alison prepares our delicious refreshments, this is the perfect place to escape the pressures of daily life and enjoy some creative time for yourself. Our aim is to offer the chance to unwind, learn a new skill and meet like minded people whilst enjoying a cuppa and a slice of cake. "This was such a lovely class. As a complete beginner I was made so welcome by our class leader Annabelle. We were given so much help her patience unending! The pastries, lunch tea and coffee were a fantastic addition to the day. Many thanks for a wonderful day." FRANCES Cushion making - April 2024
