Dala Art is the most entertaining and instructive way to hone your current skills and to learn new skills in drawing, colour mixing, grayscale value, colour value, colour schemes, altering reality and strengthening design and composition! Although taught using watercolour or ink and watercolour, the lessons can be applied to any media. Great for studio work, travel sketching. The more you enjoy drawing and painting the more you will draw and paint and the sooner you will master both old and new skills! Of all the courses I teach, this is the most popular course!

What's included in the price?

Unlimited access to the ten week, online course. You may start any time and work at your own pace. A new lesson is released to you each week. You always have access to previous week's lessons.

What you will need

Supply list: Pencil Either a fine tip permanent black marker or a fountain pen filled with permanent black ink (I use Platinum Carbon Ink. Do not use India ink as it will destroy your fountain pen due to the hardening of the shellac in the ink.) Watercolor pigments of your choice to create either a monochromatic Dala or a full color Dala. Mixing palette Watercolour paper and/or Sketchbook with paper that can accept ink and watercolour Scrap paper Water Watercolour brush (I usually use only one or two round brushes … #4 and #6) Paper towel or rag

I travel half the year exploring, sketching and painting throughout the world. When travelling, I work mainly in sketchbooks, representationally, in ink and watercolour. In my home studio I paint abstractly in watercolour or oil. I teach several live workshops each year in Wales, focusing on the joy of colour, fun sketching techniques and training your eyes to observe. Workshop students receive free access to several of my online courses to reinforce what I teach in the workshops.
