You’ll learn the essentials of composition, explore vibrant colour options, and get hands-on with carving tools to create your own unique print. This workshop offers a playful environment where experimentation is encouraged and creativity thrives. What to Expect: - Hands-On Guidance: Master the basics or refine your carving technique with expert tips on tool handling, design, and inking. - Colour Exploration: Experiment with ink colours and discover the impact of colour in your printmaking process. - Compositional Tips: Learn to create balanced, eye-catching designs with an emphasis on positive and negative space. - Creative Warm-Up: Practise carving techniques on scrap linoleum to get comfortable before diving into your final piece. - Friendly Feedback: Join a supportive group setting, ideal for sharing ideas and getting feedback on your prints. About your tutor: Aprille is a practicing visual artist and workshop leader with over 10 years in delivering printmaking classes to all ages and abilities. Her aim is to champion and support others in their creative journey. What's included in the price?
Along with Aprille's guidance all materials are provided including ink, cutting tools, paper and a selection of burnishing tools to play with. Aprille has lots of art and design books that you are welcome to look through for inspiration. You can expect fresh coffee, a selection of teas and biscuits. Please bring a packed lunch, as lunch will not be supplied.

Aprille is a visual artist exploring printaking to creates bold floral images on paper and large public art installations. She works from her cosy studio in Sheffield. Her process explores and observes the seasonal changes and the utter hope that flowers bring. As an educator, Aprille has championed individual creativity for over 14 years, she has a knack of taking the 'arty' out of making and encourages you to explore and have a go.
