Description
Do you struggle to cover a cake with smooth, sharp edges? If so, this is the class for you. A One Day course (9.30am to 3.00pm), covering all the basic techniques of covering and decorating a six-inch sponge cake. You will learn how to split the cake, fill with conserve and buttercream, crumb coat, and cover with a final coat of buttercream. You will then cover the cake with sugar paste and decorate both the cake and the board. To ensure personal tuition the maximum number of participants on this course is three. The 23rd and 24th November courses will take a festive theme with the six-inch cake and board decorated as a Christmas Snowman.
What's included in the price?
All materials, ingredients and equipment will be provided. Tara House Bakery will provide a six inch and four-layer, cake per person, for decorating. Boxes will be available to transport the finished cake. Light refreshments will be provided throughout the day, but participants will need to bring their own packed lunch.

Maker
Jane Bridgewater is a highly qualified chef and has been teaching and training chefs in further education colleges for 20 years. She was a BBC MasterChef Finalist in the 1990s and she started Tara House Bakery some ten years ago. She is now a successful baker and cake designer and wants to pass on her skills, knowledge and expertise to future cake makers. A range of cake decorating courses during the year will include vintage, wedding and Christmas cupcake decorating.
