Drop spindles, spinning wheels, and other equipment can be purchased from a variety of craft shops in the UK such as Frank Herring and Sons in Dorchester who operate a mail order service. However if you wish, you can purchase one of our spindle spinning kits, this includes a spindle made from 5 pencils, together with carded yarn to start you off, and full instructions for spinning, plying, washing and drying your yarn at a cost of £5.00 - a really cheap way to make sure that you take to spinning with minimal expense.

Yes, you could follow this course up with one or more of our other courses where you will learn how to use your handspun yarn for knitting, crochet, weaving or how to dye your yarn.
