Description

A creative half-day making obelisks/plant supports for the garden. You will learn about willow and how to best use it for weaving. You will make one 5-6 ft obelisk over the morning to take home. You will need to be able to stand for most of the morning to work on pieces this size, and kneelers are provided if required. Working in brown willow (natural green willow that has been dried with its bark on and soaked for a number of days to make it pliable), you will need quite strong hands to twist and weave the willow. Start - 9.45 for 10.00 when tuition begins Finish - 1.00 (the hall closes at 1.30pm however Alison will ensure you have finished your creation, before leaving) The workshop is suitable for anyone who is new to working with willow as well as those with a little experience.
