Develop your skills in this improvers watercolour painting course. In this 10-week course, starting Tuesday, 14th January 2025, skills and confidence will be developed in applying watercolours to paint a variety of scenes. Study in the comfort of your own home at a time that suits you and have individual feedback on your work. This course is suitable for those who have completed the beginners course with me and those who have basic skills in watercolour painting. A detailed handout will be emailed to you each week (Tuesday) with instructions, tasks, illustrations, etc. along with a link to a demonstration on YouTube. The sessions are 2 hours long for carrying out tasks and practicing, but you can carry out the work at a time convenient to you. Extra work ‘homework’ for 2 hours, is encouraged but it is optional. Individual feedback on the work you send to me will be given by email. By the end of the course you will be able to: Confidently apply watercolour washes Confidently layer or glaze paint Apply textural techniques to a variety of subjects Capture dramatic skies Capture water, still and moving Paint seascape with waves, spray and rocks Capture objects with shiny and smooth surfaces Paint a landscape with a building About your tutor: Sarah is a practising artist dividing her time between creating artwork for exhibitions and teaching art to adults. She works in a variety of media and enjoys sharing her knowledge of techniques and experience with students. Sarah is an experienced tutor having worked within adult education for local authorities, WEA, as well as for groups such as Wildlife Trusts, art societies, Embroidery Guilds, W.I.s, colleges, art galleries and museums. More recently she has successfully run her courses privately.
