Learn directly from Leathersmith and London College of Fashion Lecturer, Georgie Tym, as she guides you through this experience day, making a classic hand stitched vegetable tanned leather card wallet with a raw edge and contrasting lining. Who is this course for? This wallet in a day course is ideal for all experience levels, from beginners to confident makers. A perfect introduction into leather work and crafting luxury accessories, you will experience the wide variety of tasks involved in the work. What to expect Have fun learning the basics of leather craft (for accessories), with introduction to techniques including: hand stitching on leather, machine stitching on leather, hand finishing and hand cutting. You will be working with quality vegetable tanned leather and will be introduced to a wide range of tools which are available to purchase should you wish. In order to complete your wallet in a day we will use some pre-prepared components and the card wallet will be made from a 'Hands of Tym' pattern. Don’t worry though, there is still plenty of hands-on work for you to enjoy. Come and enjoy this absorbing craft for a mindful experience crafting with your hands. The Wallet The wallet design is a slim card wallet, featuring 4 credit card slots, 2 slip pockets and a contrasting black interior. The resulting design from a need for a slimmer wallet. This wallet is card focused, streamlined and fuss free. The style keeps your cards handy but with two slip pockets for cash or other necessities. Slick styling with contemporary detailing, there is space inside and outside for personalisation on your wallet. The wallet is left unlined and raw to showcase the quality of the beautiful vegetable tanned Tuscan leather. A choice of multiple leather colours for the exterior with a black leather interior. Make it your own with personalised hand embossing. The dimensions of the finished wallet are: H: 77mm, W: 100mm, D: 8mm and it will be the same construction as the wallet in the product photos. Time: The course runs from 10pm - 4pm. There will be snacks served and tea/ coffee throughout. Location: The course will be run from the workshop of Hands Of Tym in Banbury, Oxfordshire, OX16 9DH. Parking: Parking is available on the drive with easy access via the M40. Transport: Banbury train station is a 30 min walk. Trains run from both London Marylebone and Birmingham to Banbury in 50 minutes. We’re also well connected to Reading, Oxford, Leamington Spa to name a few. Maximum class size is 4

There are NO ADDITIONAL costs. All leather, hardware and other materials will be included. There will be a selection of leather and hardware colours for you to choose from. Light lunch and refreshments also included
