Description

Brian and I are passionate about teaching a variety of willow weaving courses in the beautiful Surrey Hills near Dorking. This traditional stake and strand willow basket is a great place to begin your basket making journey. Working with willow from Somerset you will create an a symmetrical basket in a few different varieties and colours, making your own unique basket. We teach you the process step by step and inform you how the material is grown and prepared for weaving. You will learn a variety of weaves including, pairing, three rod wale and choose whether froman asymmetrical border with a wooden handle or a traditional border with optional leather handles. Basket making requires some strength in you fingers and hands and is not suitable if you suffer with arthritis.

What's included in the price?

All materials are included on the course with the use of my tools, but please bring your favourite secateurs if you would rather work with them. Teas, coffees and nibbles. Please bring lunch.
